ArbeiterKind.de motivates students from families without university experience to be the first to study in their families. Many volunteers are involved in 75 local groups throughout Germany to inform students about the opportunities offered by going to university and to support them in the further phases of their academic careers.
The task of the relaunch team, consisting of Jenny Woste (Screendesign), Tino Großmann (PICITMEDIA, UX and concept) and myself, was to bring relaunch ArbeiterKind.de and to re-structure all content: information materials, events and local groups. Due to the already existing infrastructure at ArbeiterKind.de it was necessary to realize this with the Drupal content management system.
Part of the conception phase was a prototype created by me: A "living wireframe" summarized the results of both usability concepts and of joint workshops in the conception phase, and - with emphasis on responsive behavior - visualized them in the browser. These "blueprints" were already perceivable on various output devices and formed the basis for a distinct Drupal 7 theme, in which I combined Tino's concept and Jenny's final artwork and style guide.
